Dreamwork
"Dreams are a conversation with oneself, a dialogue of symbols and images that takes place between the unconscious and conscious levels of the mind."
Dreams are natural and necessary expressions of the life force. They provide access into the unconscious areas of life. They give specific and appropriately timed messages which can assist us with problem-solving, artistic inspiration, psychological development and spiritual deepening.
There are many excellent tools for conducting inner work, but, for me, dreamwork is among the best, not only because it is enormously efficient and effective, but also because it is free and available to all. Dreams show us pleasant and painful truths about ourselves in the interest of bringing us to health and wholeness. Learning the language of dreams and reflecting on their messages opens up vast new realms of hidden potential within our souls, shedding light on darkened chambers and healing ancient wounds along the way.
When you work on dreams with me privately either by telephone, videophone or in person, we enter a space where magic happens. My listening will evoke ideas and associations that you would most likely not have on your own.
I am often hearing people say "now why didn't I think of that"?
Two hearts are better than one. The act of speaking the dream and having it attended with full presence is a healing experience in itself.
One of my clients dreamed of a polar bear trying to bite her backside. She had looked up her dream dictionary but found no clues there. I asked her to reflect on the natural habitat of the bear and to wonder how that might relate to her present life. She immediately made the link with the vast loneliness and frozen emotions she had pushed down from the past. I asked her to turn and face the bear in her imagination and it then transformed into a brown bear that was no longer threatening her. It had a warmer colour which meant she was closer to her feeling. She now had a felt sense of what the dream was telling her. This is so much more meaningful than if I had given her a correct interpretation which would only have satisfied her mind.
